Yes. You twirling on top of the mountain in the Alps singing the Sound of Music was lovely, but so was the hike to Slough's creek. It was day #3 and Paul and I were serious about getting out into the back country to see Yellowstone. After breakfast we made lunches, packed granola bars, plenty of water, everybody had bear bells and we had bear spray. Slough's creek is off the grid. You have to drive about 2 miles down a gravel road from the main road to find the trail head. We were going into Yellowstone!
A few critters we met along the way.
Some flowers
The first half of the hike was steep! It was a climb. The kids wanted to quick right away. But Paul and I both knew that if there was a bowl of ice cream at the top of this hill, these kids would be running up it. So we weren't buying any sorry excuses. Move forward!
We ate lunch at this spot and just took in the beauty.
