The Colorado River starts in Rocky Mountain National Park. The spring is on the other side of the mountains so you have to drive over the tundra to get to it. About a 1.5hr car ride. Considering the impact this river had on the landscape in Southwestern United States, this is something I had to see. Would I have to bow my head to pay my respects to its greatness when I get there? There must be railings installed to keep people back from the rushing water. Right? Nope. It was nothing more than a 15' wide ankle deep stream of water. I was shocked.
The Colorado River is made up of around 12 tributaries up here in RMNP. From this picture there were 3 more tributaries down stream. And then its on to the 6th Natural Wonder of the World. More on that later.
Kevin is filling up a thermos of fresh river water for mom. Seriously, I was very good.
