The 1st night

I think we pulled into Canyon Campground around 4 or 5pm.  This was a 5 night stop and we packed accordingly.  But we also have to unpack accordingly.  Pulling everything out of the truck, setting up the camper, setting up the camp while trying to keep the kids at bay was challenging.  Stuff was everywhere.  Paul bought a massive blue tarp to hang over the camp to keep us dry if it rained.  We battled with that for an hour or two before giving up.

Here every kid at a throw of a rock with a rope attached over a branch to hand the blue tarp.

I started cooking dinner.  A camping favorite of mine.  Hobo dinner!  Yummy.  Its simple.  Tin foil, ground meat, veggies, some water and French onion soup mix.  20 mins later its ready to go.  Cleanup is just throwing everything in the trash can.

When you enter a campground at Yellowstone you are supplied with rule to keep you off of a bears' menu.  All food, dish soap, fragrant stuff must go in the bear box or back of the car.  A bear box wasn't near our campsite so we had to put everything in the back seat of the truck.

It was an exhausting day.  We all went to bed and slept soundly.
